Vilau implants the Alticast digital header for Teledifusion Madrid to control various multiplexes
Vilau, a company specialising in the development of projects and services in the new digital media sector, has implanted the Alticast DVB-MHP interactive digital header, which controls several multiplexes via IP, for the network operator Teledifusion Madrid.
Vilau, part-owned by the Korean firm Alticast, an international reference in technological development for interactive digital television and present in Europe, the USA and Asia, markets its platform in Spain. "Thanks to its experience in the audiovisual sector, Vilau is an excellent partner for marketing our interactive digital television solutions", as Karl Harner, Alticast?s Director of Business Development and Sales in Europe, states.
Thanks to the agreement reached with Vilau, Television Madrid, which operates with various television channels in the region of Madrid, will have the most advanced iTV DVB-MHP technology for processing and transmitting interactive content.
First installation of this type in the world
With only one Alticast interactive services management platform and using its own IP network, Teledifusion Madrid will be able to remotely control 11 different multiplexes via IP, which will allow it to send and process the interactive applications for all the local television channels that share the said multiplexes. Accordingly, Vilau and Teledifusión become the first in the world to complete an installation with this type of configuration.
Vilau?s experience in the design and management of this type of project guarantees the success of its all-round solutions. Besides the technical implantation of the platform, Vilau also offers a complete service that includes the creation of informative contents, the development of interactive services (sending of SMS text messages, e-mails and votes, among others) and the management of transactions related to T-government and T-commerce.
Javier Calera, Vilau?s Managing Director, talks about his satisfaction for the start-up of this project: "We are very proud to have brought Alticast?s high technology to the market, because we are aware that it is an outstanding event on the audiovisual market on both a national and world scale. Teledifusión Madrid will benefit from the high-tech features of this solution and the quality service we provide for all our clients".
